The Wolves wrestlers participated in the Rugby Panther Booster. Each individual ranked in the top 10 at the meet.
Corban Sorenson took 3rd place in the 127-pound division. He entered seeded in 6th, lost in the quarterfinals on day one, but came back strong on day two. He got a major decision 15-4 over the same kind in the 3rd and 4th place match.
Wyatt Boekelman took 8th Place in the 133-pound division. This was the first time Wyatt made 133 pounds and got his first varsity placement of the season. He entered seeded in 7th and was wrestling well, living up to his seed, but in the placing match he came up a little short.
At 139 pounds, Griffon Signalness took 6th place. Will Langford placed 5th. And Rowdy Mott took 3rd place. It’s difficult when teammates have to wrestle against one another, but that is part of the sport.
As a freshman, Griffon was seeded 7th and got an upset in the consolation quarter-finals, to end up in the 5th place match. Will and Griffon ended up in the 5th place match and battled it out, ending with the more experienced wrestler coming out on top. Rowdy came in seeded 4th and got a nice win in the consolation finals to finish in 3rd.
Wrestling at 145 pounds, Zane Wagoner took 3rd place in his division. He entered seeded 4th and he got a revenge match win against a Velva kid who beat him at the Rumble on the Red. In the Semi-finals, he came up short against the No. 1-ranked Class B wrestler. Zane wrestled great on day two to win the 3rd place match 9-2.
Brier Arnegard took Runner-Up in the 152-pound division. He tech-falled his way to the finals where he came up against Class B No. 1 from Velva, Carson Hildre. These two are great competitors and now are 1-1 in  the season. The pair are likely to have their best of three next weekend in Killdeer.
Heavy Weight Sam Inman wrestled his way to 3rd place. Sam was seeded 3rd, had a really close semi-final match that could’ve gone either way. He lost, but brushed it off well to come back on day two pinning his way to 3rd place.
The Wolves will be wrestling agains Century and Jamestown at home Friday, Jan. 24, and Saturday, they will head down to Killdeer for a tournament.
