Wolves roll over Bison

The Watford City varsity girls basketball team rolled over the Hazen Bison, 59-40, last Tuesday to improve their season record to 14-3.
The Wolves will close out their regular season action on Saturday as they travel to Dickinson Trinity.
Watford City 59, Hazen 40
Watford City started out slow, but finished strong as the Wolves cruised to a resounding, 59-40, win over Hazen on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in their final home game of the season.
After trailing the Bison, 14-11, at the end of the first quarter, Watford City outgunned the Bison in the next three quarters to coast to an easy win. The Wolves led Hazen, 26-21, at halftime, and then outscored the Bison, 15-11, in the third quarter before coasting to the easy win.
Katie Mogen, Watford City’s outstanding sophomore, led the Wolves in scoring as she netted 17 points and scored her 1,000th career point. Joining Mogen in double-digit scoring was Ricki Lindley with 14 points.
Also scoring for the Wolves was Amanda Mogen with nine points, Kaitlyn Grimes with six points, Kara Langerud and Jeanna Zenz with five points each, Jordan Sparby with two points and Mackenzie Sparby with one point.
