Watford City’s varsity softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull off a 6-4 win over Wilton-Wing in opening round play of the Southwest Sub-Region Tournament, but came up short against Heart River in the championship game on Thursday, May 17.
With the second place finish, the Wolves advance to the West Region Tournament, which began on May 21 in Turtle Lake.
