Bowman County 46,
Watford City 37
Bowman County, the No. 2 ranked team in the state of North Dakota visited the Rough Rider Center presented by Northern States Fishing Tools on Tuesday and beat Watford City 46-37 on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs got off to a quick start and quickly built an 11-point lead. “I was disappointed with how we started on defense,” said Watford City head coach, Tom Dwyer. “We didn’t start with the defensive intensity we needed to. We needed to do a better job communicating on defense and just having better overall awareness.” The Wolves outscored Bowman County the rest of the game by a margin of 33-31, but were unable to dig themselves out of the early hole. “Hopefully it’s something we can learn from and get better at moving forward. We did some good things in that game but clearly have some things we need to improve on,” said Coach Dwyer. Sophia Headley led Bowman County with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Adi Schaff and Annabelle Bohn both had six rebounds and four steals for Watford City. Bohn and Bailey Mattson had three assists each.
