Watford City hit the road Tuesday, Dec. 17, and lost a Region 3 battle to Des Lacs-Burlington 62-36.” Annabelle Bohn hit a layup for the first basket of the game, but that would be the only Wolves lead all night. “DL-B deserves a lot of credit,” said Watford City Head Coach Tom Dwyer. “They are very well coached and had a good game plan. I was very impressed with a couple of their players. But, I would say I was more disappointed with how we played.”
The Lakers made a bunch of early shots as they built a 21-8 first quarter lead. “Our focus at the very beginning needed to be a lot better,” continued Dwyer. “We did a terrible job executing our press and gave up way too many layups. Defensively, we didn’t play together as a team. We didn’t show the effort we expect. We had way too many turnovers. I think the biggest thing I was disappointed in, was just the overall effort we gave and the lack of teamwork we showed on defense.”
