Trial date set for former McKenzie County Sheriff Deputy

A trial date was set for Sept. 22, 2025, on the case of the State of North Dakota vs. Daniel Christensen.
Christensen was charged with 44 counts of Possession of certain materials prohibited on Dec. 16, 2024.
According to documents filed with the Northwest Judicial District, on Dec. 10, 2024, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation received a cybertip from Synchronoss Technologies from the National Centers of Missing and Exploited Children.
On Dec. 20, 2024, Officers received data back from Verizon Wireless regarding the account used in Cybertip and that the number belonged to Christensen.
Law Enforcement executed a search warrant of Christensen’s residence in Alexander, N.D. and observed 48 items of Child Sexual Abuse Materials within Christensen’s Synchronoss account. Items included sexually explicit images of prepubescent youth from 4 to 12 years of age.
