“The numbers are pretty much what we expected for the month of May. Oil production was flat,” Lynn Helms, North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources director said, as oil production came in just over the 1 million barrels per day mark.
Oil production remained steady with 1,133,530 barrels of crude oil produced per day for a total of 35,139,418 barrels.
McKenzie County continues to lead the state with 5,410 active wells that produced 11,653,153 barrels of oil (33.16 percent of the state’s total) and 47,154,714 mcf of natural gas (48.19 percent of the state’s total).
A drop in pricing was seen as WTI was at $71.62 per barrel compared to $79.44 in April, and North Dakota Light Sweet Crude was down by 10 percent at $65.82 compared to April’s $75.23 per barrel.
