McKenzie County 4-H Archers receive honors at state indoor match

McKenzie County 4-H Archers took home first place team honors in the Junior Barebow division at the 4-H Archery Indoor Championship Match held at the Nashu Bowmen Club Archery Range in Bismarck on April 12. Team members were Kyron LaPaz, Hailey Transtrom, Luke Transtrom and William Wisness. William captured first place individually and Hailey followed with second place honors.


In addition, the Senior Freestyle team placed second with DJ Beadle being awarded first place individual honors. Other members of the team were: Dylon Cargo, Luke Pedersen and Hailey Wendlandt.


Lastly, the Beginner Barebow team received second place honors. Those team members were Rhett Fisher, Grant Linseth, Natalie Transtrom and Adalyn Transtrom.


This was a qualifying event and served as the culmination of archery matches held throughout the season from January to April. Other McKenzie County 4-H’ers qualifying and participating in the match were: Boston Foss, Jax Hovde, Heston Jenks, Myah Jenks, Lloen LaPaz, Payton Schultz, John Signalness, Bodey Transtrom, Elden Transtrom, Elsie Transtrom, Jayden Transtrom, Adam Warren and Emma Warren.


McKenzie County 4-H archery has over 100 members ages 8 to 18.
Volunteer coaches for McKenzie County are Brent Schwan, Blaine Hovland, Alex Schmidt, Brandon Beadle, Marcia Hellandsaas and Ryan Odenbach.
