The spirit of giving back runs deep in Watford City, where a young girl has donated a beef she raised herself to the local food pantry. Eight-year-old Ella Taylor has shown a remarkable act of generosity by donating a beef she raised herself to the local food pantry. Ella’s donation highlights the importance of community support, especially during the winter months.
Ella, a third-grader, isn’t new to raising animals. She’s raised pigs before through 4-H, but this was her first experience raising a beef. While her older siblings, Jett (14) and Piper (11), have shown and sold their beef at the 4-H sale, Ella, as a Cloverbud (the youngest 4-H members), wasn’t yet old enough to sell hers. Raising animals is a family endeavor for the Taylors. Ella’s dad, Luke credits his wife Courtney with much of the passing down of valuable animal husbandry knowledge, citing her experiences growing up and raising animals on her family’s ranch.
