The announcement that the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is moving forward with the four-laning of U.S. Highway 85 from Watford City to the Long X Bridge is a big step forward to improving the state’s transportation system in western North Dakota.
Most of us can remember how deadly U.S. Highway 85 from Watford City to Williston was when it was just a two-lane highway. And how the traffic flow immediately improved once that highway was four-laned.
